We’ve been tasked with securing a Sales Leader to lead & develop the sales strategy of this one year old Managed Service Provider (MSP).

This is a unique opportunity for a Sales Professional to create a sales environment and strategy based on their own ideas and vision. You will be expected to lead the sales cycle, rolling up your sleeves and winning new business.

Supported by a highly experienced technical team, including technical consultants and pre-sales (many of whom have previously enjoyed success together), you will deliver business outcomes to clients across any industry vertical and across all regions.

Developing the go-to-market strategy with the team, including the chairman, you will together set out the targets for the year, including your plans for the growth of your team. Drawing on your experience of direct selling, managing & developing teams as well as your own personal self-drive, you’ll accurately forecast the growth of the business. Effectively you will be running a business within a business, without the risk of starting one yourself.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A natural Sales Leader
  • In-depth knowledge of Voice / Data / Cloud / Security / EUC technologies
  • Experience in selling both Project and Managed Services
  • A stable career to-date with a demonstrable career progression
  • An entrepreneurial flair for business
  • At least 7 years (direct) sales experienced gained within a reseller or managed service provider environment
  • A consistent high-achiever
  • An understanding of budgeting
  • Accurate sales forecasting
  • A can-do attitude
  • Self-discipline
  • A new-business hunter
  • A team player with an appreciation for the bigger picture
  • Ability to nurture and grow accounts
  • Ability to hire, nurture and develop team members
  • Approachable
  • Technically-proficient
  • An appreciation and understanding of Marketing strategies (they have a marketing person in place)

For this role you will have to wear many hats – a new business hunter, an account manager, a leader, a team player and a mentor. You will work to your strengths and recognise qualities in others.

Above all else, I’m looking to speak with a sales professional who can clearly articulate a well-thought out sales strategy demonstrating what needs to be prioritised to achieve consistently high results.

  • Flexible working – fully remote (UK), hybrid or on-premise

  • A competitive basic salary – around £60,000.00 has been quoted but is also negotiable to attract the right person
  • A commission plan agreed upon between you and the Chairman, that will ensure you are rewarded for your performance
